Creating Your First Interview

This guide walks you through creating and conducting your first interview with InsightAgent.

Before You Begin​

Ensure you have:

  • An active InsightAgent account
  • Expert contact information (name, title, phone number for dial-in)

Creating an Interview​

1. Navigate to Interviews​

Click Interviews in the sidebar, then click New Interview.

2. Select Interview Type​

3. Enter Expert Information​

Fill in the expert details:

4. Add Interview Questions​

Add at least one question. Structure your interview with:

  • Opening questions - Build rapport
  • Core questions - Main topics to cover
  • Follow-up prompts - Dig deeper on key points

5. Configure Settings​

  • Topic/Call Subject (required) - Brief description of interview focus
  • AI Agent - Select which agent conducts the interview (defaults to your account's default agent)
  • Compliance Disclaimer - Legal text read at start (has default, can customize)

6. Set Up Dial-In (for phone interviews only)​

For phone interviews, provide:

  • Dial-in Phone Number - Number the AI will call
  • Meeting ID - Identifier for the call
  • PIN (optional) - Access code if required

7. Schedule or Save​

  • Schedule - For phone interviews, set a future date and time. For web interviews, no date/time needed.
  • Save without scheduling - Creates interview in NOT_SCHEDULED status

During the Interview​

Phone Interviews​

  1. Click Launch AI Agent to initiate the call
  2. The AI agent conducts the conversation
  3. Click Stop AI Agent & Complete when finished

Web Interviews​

  1. Set the interview to SCHEDULED status (no date/time required)
  2. Click Copy Link to get the expert's join URL
  3. Share the link with your expert
  4. The expert can join whenever they're ready
  5. Expert clicks I'm Done when finished

After the Interview​

Once the interview completes:

  • Transcript - Displayed automatically in the left panel
  • Audio - Available via the audio player
  • Analysis - AI-generated summary and key quotes in the Analysis tab
  • Export - Download as Text, JSON, or PDF
  • Session Stats - View duration and other metrics
