Interviews are the core of InsightAgent. This section covers everything you need to know about creating, managing, and conducting expert interviews.

Interview Types

Full Interview

Comprehensive interviews for in-depth expert conversations. Best for:

  • Research interviews
  • Expert consultations
  • Detailed knowledge extraction

Vetting Interview

Shorter, structured interviews for qualification purposes. Best for:

  • Expert screening
  • Initial assessments
  • Quick evaluations

How Interviews Work

Interviews can be conducted in two ways, determined by how the expert accesses the interview:

Phone Interviews

The AI agent calls into a dial-in number to conduct the interview. Requirements:

  • Valid dial-in phone number configured
  • Meeting ID for the call
  • The expert joins via their regular phone/conference line

Web Interviews

Expert joins via a browser link. Requirements:

  • Share the interview link with the expert
  • Modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)
  • Microphone access

Interview Lifecycle

NOT_SCHEDULED → SCHEDULED → DIALING → WAITING_FOR_EXPERT → IN_PROGRESS → COMPLETED

Session Tracking

Each interview can have multiple sessions (e.g., if a call drops and reconnects). Sessions have their own status:

AbandonedSession ended unexpectedly (call dropped, connection lost)

Abandoned sessions are clearly marked in the interview list and detail views, helping you identify interviews that may need follow-up.
