Agent Voices
Choose the voice your agent speaks with.
Selecting a voice
When creating or editing an agent, a Voice selector sits next to the Language field. Pick from the curated list of available voices. The list is filtered to voices compatible with the agent's selected language, so changing the language updates the available voices.
- A newly created agent defaults to the first voice for its language.
- An existing agent opens with whatever voice it's currently set to.
- The same voice applies to both the Phone and Web versions of the agent.
Why voice consistency matters
If you use multi-agent routing, the main agent and every sub-agent it can transfer to should use the same voice. A handoff is only seamless if the expert hears one continuous speaker. When a transfer rule links agents with different voices, the agent chain shows a voice-mismatch warning so you can correct it before going live.
Imported voices
Agents created before voice selection existed keep the voice they were already using. When you open such an agent, you'll see a note indicating it's using a previously-configured voice. Selecting a voice from the picker switches it to a curated voice going forward.
